Thoughts in the time of Covid19

So now it's getting closer... Every time I fantasize that in two weeks we'll be back on the road but a case happened 3 streets from my residence that has jolted me back to the reality on ground. This is frustrating! two weeks from now, we'll be informed again that we need to stay home and stay safe for another two more weeks. Instead of "suffering" this lockdown once and for all, some people will use there own stupidity/nonchalance/selfishness (call it whatever) to keep the figures high! I wake up every morning to shouts of "it's a goal!!!" Police will see them, collect tips and move on! Adults behaving like children and not keeping to simple instruction! People still "strolling" to "visit friends" down the road like this is a holiday. Apparently even some medical personnel don't know the magnitude of this Covid19. A Dr took in a patient with covid symptoms into his hospital. One would think that common sense will prevail him to call the emergency centre for immediate evacuation, but no! Oga has been treating him along with some other patients in his hospital. Unfortunately he got infected too & died two days ago. I think oga Dr's case was as a result of an underlying illness and old age. The person wey bring the covid to am still dey alive. *Sigh* I think #Nigeria govt should put some sort of money incentive for people to come forward if they have possibly been exposed to Covid19. It's a different approach but one I think might actually work considering our mindset. The clause could be only those who test positive will be paid. When they tell Nigerians to self isolate, I don't think a lot of people actually do. This is one of the reason why this is spreading fast. Until people start showing symptoms, we don't take it serious here. My sister is a nurse in the US. She and some other staff were exposed to some covid19 patient last week. Authorities closed up and disinfected her clinic. All staff have been on self isolation since then. A few have tested positive. Thankfully she tested negative. Did you watch the burial of Abba Kyari yesterday (see link below). I foresee a skyrocketing of Covid19 patients amongst this gathering in the coming weeks. The sad part is that there families and any acquaintances will also be infected. Why are we like this for God's sake?! Why? #COVID19Nigeria #StayHomeStaySafe #covid19 https://t.co/0RdNNm7KQh
